NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME (NSS)

Introduction:

National Service Scheme (NSS) is a permanent youth programme under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India and the expenditure is shared by the Central and State Government in the ratio 7:5. Though NSS was started in the year 1969, the same was introduced in Polytechnic Colleges during the year 1983 – 1984.

In our college, one NSS unit is functioning with 50 volunteers.

Objectives:

The overall objective of National Service Scheme is "Development of the personality of students through community service".

MOTO / WATCH WORD

"Not me but you" :

It underlines that the welfare of an industrial is ultimately dependent on the welfare of society on the whole.

SYMBOL:

The symbol of the National Service Scheme, as appearing title of NSS is based on the "Rath‟ Wheel of the Konark Sun Temple in Orissa. The giant wheels of the Sun Temple portray the cycle of creation, preservation and release and signify the movement in life across time and space.
